This pair of select natural Montana Moss Agate river polished stones range from clear, brown, black, orange, and milky opalescent white colors. These stones each have outstanding dendritic textures along with some remnant solution gas cavities within the stone matrix. These agates are 2.25 to 2.50 in length and as an aggregate weigh 174.3 grams. High quality naturally river polished gemstones like this are wonderful to hold in hand as they are smooth and feel nice. Since the agate survived bouncing and tumbling with larger stones, they are dense and would make good cabochon rough for custom jewelry making. The Yellowstone River is famous for this type of agate, however they are found in rivers all over Southwest Montana were petrified forests were once covered in volcanic flows and limb casts were created in the host rock.
