Build Your Site

Note: Please read carefully Theme Installation / Plugin Configuration before performing these follow configurations.

1. General WordPress Settings

– WordPress Configuration

First step to build your site is to set your site name, site link and set up homepage.

  • You can change Site Title in Settings > General in admin sidebar.
  • In Settings > Reading page, you can set the number of posts to show in blog pages and select page for Front Page and Posts Page .
  • Discussion settings in Settings > Discussion provide a lot of options for you to explore such as “Default article settings”, “Other comment settings”.
  • In Settings > Permalinks, you can select “Post name” option.

2. Setup Menu

– Create New Menu

Detail steps:

  1. Navigate to Appearance > Menus in admin sidebar then click Create a new menu link. Give your new menu a name and click “Create Menu” button.

2. Add menu item to your new menu by checking the box before item name and click “Add to Menu”.

3. If you want to add mega menu for a specific menu, do as description below

Click on down arrow of the menu and check Mega menu, select Display Content of panel columns options, feel free if you wish to resize mega menu width at Default options

If you want to select a new options for this, go to Mega menu [Arrow theme] > Add new

Select your desired design, then Update

Or you wonder where you can edit the menu inside this mega menu: Go to Mega menu [Arrow theme]

List of mega menu will show up, select the one to edit

3. Header Setup

Go to Modus > Header in order to access header setup page.

General, Modus supports 3 types of header, you can see demo in the pictures below.

To find out more about these options, you can go to Theme Options > Header.

4. Footer Setup

Go to Modus > Footer in order to access footer setup page.

General, Modus supports 3 types of footer, you can see demo in the pictures below.

To find out more about these options, you can go to Theme Options > Footer.

5. How To

Create Blog Posts

Modus support several post formats such as: Video, blockquote, link, audio, project.

Step 1 – Navigate to Posts in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 2 – Click on the Add New option to make a new post. Create a title, and insert your post content in the editing field.

Step 3 – Add Categories from the right side. To assign it to the post, check the box next to the Category name.

Step 4 – Add Tags from the right side. Type the name of the tag in the field, separate multiple tags with commas.

Step 5 – Click the first Featured Image Box, select an image and click the Set Featured Image button.

Step 6 – Add content for “Short description” and select single blog layouts in Blog Options. The “Short description” content will display as the summary in blog list.

Step 7 – Select Post Format and enter suitable content for post format in Post Format box.

– Video and audio format: you will need to enter embed link of youtube, vimeo or soundcloud or paste the iFrame embed from either Youtube or Vimeo into the Video Embed Code field in Video & Audio Embed Code.

– Project format: If you choose Project format, you will see Image Project box display in the right of page. Image in project will be shown as slider.

– Blockquote format: If you choose Blockquote format, you will need enter quote and quote author

– Link format: For Link format, you will need enter title and link

Step 8 – Select options in Layout Options box.

Step 9 – Once you are finished, click Publish to save the post.

Create a page

You can use WPBakery Page Builder to add shortcode into page content. For detail option of each Modus shortcode, please see Shortcode section.

  1. Step 1 – Navigate to Pages in your WordPress admin sidebar. Click Add new if you want to create new, otherwise, click All Pages and select post if you want to edit.
  2. Step 2 – Enter page title
  3. Step 3 – Enter content. You can use WPBakery Page Builder to add shortcode to content. Make sure to enable WPBakery Page Builder for page. Please see Plugin Configuration > WPBakery Page Builder for more detail.
  4. Step 5 Select options in Layout Options.Note: Header and Footer selection in Layout Options will have higher priority than General Theme Options.
  5. Step 5 – Once you are finished, click Publish or Update in the right side to save changes.

Go to Appeareance > Widget, you can find footer sidebar’s information. Each footer has about 5 parts, you can click on each part to change.

Client

– Creating / Editing Client

Step 1 – Navigate to Client in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 2 – Click on the Add New option to make a new client. Enter client name in title field.

Step 3 – Click the first Featured Image Box, select an image and click the Set Featured Image button.

Step 4 – Once you are finished, click Publish or Update to save the client.

Testimonials

– Creating / Editing Testimonials

Step 1 – Navigate to Testimonials in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 2 – Click on the Add New option to make a new testimonials. Enter testimonials name in title field.

Step 3 – Click the first Featured Image Box, select an image and click the Set Featured Image button.

Step 4 – Enter value for business.

Step 5 – Once you are finished, click Publish or Update to save the testimonials.

Team

– Creating / Editing Team

Step 1 – Navigate to Team in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 2 – Click on the Add New option to make a new Team. Enter Team name in title field.

Step 3 – Click the first Featured Image Box, select an image and click the Set Featured Image button.

Step 4 – Enter value position and social for Team.

Step 5 – Once you are finished, click Publish or Update to save the Team.

Portfolio

– Creating / Editing Portfolio

Step 1 – Navigate to Team in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 2 – Click on the Add New option to make a new portfolio. Enter portfolio name in title field.

Step 3 – Click the first Featured Image Box, select an image and click the Set Featured Image button.

Step 5 – Once you are finished, click Publish or Update to save the portfolio.

Our Services

– Creating / Editing Our Services

Step 1 – Navigate to Team in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 2 – Click on the Add New option to make a new Our Services. Enter Our Services name in title field.

Step 3 – Click the first Featured Image Box, select an image and click the Set Featured Image button.

Step 5 – Once you are finished, click Publish or Update to save the Our Services.
